This year’s international selection of LFF 2023 21’ edition focuses on the topic of intersectionality approach to the social struggle.
The program of this year wants to remember the power of cinema in an analysis of discrimination that highlights how different types of oppressions overlap, through space and time. Starting from the narratives about female’s role in today’s Iranian society, to the topic of collective and individual memory, including stories of borders from all over the world.
The topic of the household and generational trauma, as the first ground of social conflict, is another “green line” of this year’s program: many of the directors that will take part in the festival represent topics such as gender roles and toxic masculinity through the lens of intergenerational conflict.
“Personal is political”, and the selection of LFF of this year reminds us of this, through untold stories of characters that history forgets, but cinema praises.
This year’s program includes films from Slovenia, Iran, Serbia, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Switzerland, Spain, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Croatia and Romania.
